Jan Ingvar Hannelius (07-12-1916 - 07-03-2005) Finnish composer and International Master

Jan Hannelius was president of the Permanent Commission for Chess Composition of the FIDE during 12 years. He was an International Judge and wrote "100 Finlandska Miniatyrer" in 1984.
An obituary article was published by Jorma Paavilainen.

Jan Hannelius published his first problem at 15 years old and composed mostly direct movers.

The Hannelius theme is a twomover theme:

Kristian R. Nielsen (07-12-1888 - 28-02-1969) Norwegian composer

Kristian Nielsen was a successful composer of direct mates and selfmates. He presented the Swallow theme in a record economical setting (13 pieces) which is reproduced in die Schwalbe personalia no.295.
He is also known for this Babson-task selfmate in three.
Some of his works were quoted in "Caissas Trollbundne, Problemsjakk i Norge" by Espen Backe - read the book review by Martin Hoffmann (in Schweizerische Schachzeitung, in German).
He composed logical problems as well as Bohemian problems.
