Avenir Popandopulo was also an International Judge. He composed about 300 strategic multimovers. About 100 of his problems can be found in R.Kofman's "Избранные композиции" (1985) together with works by Grin, Dombrovskis, Kofman and Kuznetsov. A nice obituary by Russian metal scientists in "Metal Science and Heat Treatment" (August 1988, Volume 30, Issue 8, p 637) had been made available for free on resources.metapress.com but is now on Springer.com.

Nichy Gheran collaborated with "Buletin Problemistic" and composed twomovers, helpmates and fairy problems.
He was the inventor of the fairy piece CAT (Cal Troian - Cheval de Troie) or (1,2 ; 0,2)Leaper-Rider which was the theme of a thematic tourney organized by Buletin Problemistic. See for instance the interesting half-paralysis effect achieved by M.Manolescu in this h#2.
