François Paul Loquin was a chess player and published many direct mate problems between 1843 and 1875, in "Le Palamède", "La Régence" etc. Some biographical details can be found on the French website problemiste.fr.

Henry Loveday is famous for having composed and sent to Howard Stauton, the then director of the "Chess Player's Chronicle", the famous Indian problem below:
