Gary Kevin Ware did a good job on ChessProblem.net to present Horatio Bolton and Colin Vaughn's discovery,
"from S.S. Blackburne's "Terms and Themes of Chess Problems", that the Reverend Horatio Bolton was a Norfolk clergyman, and a "fine composer of the old school. He used to be regarded as the Father of the Problem Art in England and was a master composer of his day." Horatio Bolton is the subject of the first chapter of Das Indische Problem by Johannes Kohtz and Carl Kockelkorn, "Das indische Problem", and this also happens to be the first problem in that book."The problem is widely known, but it still deserves your attention and has been reproduced below.
You might also find interesting this page about the K+2S vs K+P study (Horatio Bolton, 1840) which influenced Troitzky: inspired by Bolton's study, he thoroughly analyzed this endgame K+2S vs K+P. and published the analysis in "Chess Studies" (1937).

Ladivslav Vetešník composed mostly direct mates in the Bohemian style. He was the first Moravian problemist of renown. You can read about his life and chess career on nss.cz. His obituary by Miroslav Havel can be read in Ceskoslovensky Sach, January 1950.
Miroslav Soukup wrote the booklet "Ladislav Vetešník - Žeň šedesáti let" about his works (1944, 100 direct mates). More recently, a monograph about Vetešník was also published in 2000: "Šachový odkaz Ladislava Vetešníka" ("The Chess Link of Ladislav Vetešník") by Jan Kalendovský and Michal Dragoun.
