György Páros was also an International Judge but he is renowned worldwide as a helpmates specialist. Of course he composed awarded direct mates.
He wrote "Csodák a sakktáblán" (Wonders on the chessboard, 1940) and "A sakkmművészet világa" (The world of chess composition, 1967) and two compilations of Soviet Chess Compositions for periods 1945-47 and 1968-1950.

Aleksandar Popovski (28-04-1932 - 28-12-2023) Macedonian composer
Aleksandar Popovski is not only a direct mate and helpmate composer. As Marjan Kovacevic wrote on MatPlus Forum:
Popovski initiated the first thematic tournaments in the journal "Radio Skopje". Later on, a new wave of composers was attracted by his highly popular column in "Mlad Borec", where informal tourneys were added to thematic ones. His next steps were to establish chess problem magazines "Novi Temi", and, years later, the "Falanga".
The legacy of "father of Macedonian chess composition" was based on his exceptional working abilities and devotion, but also on his high position in the society. Aleksandar Popovski was a well-known writer of poetry and prose, editor, journalist and publisher in the world of literature.

上田吉一 (28-04-1949) Japanese composer (Yoshikazu Ueda)
Yoshikazu Ueda is primarily a tsume-shogi composer and came to chess composition quite naturally. In view of Ueda's achievements, in 1995 at the WCCC meeting in Turku (Finland) Tadashi Wakashima gave a lecture about his fellow-countryman’s problems. Later in 2007-2008 a two-part article entitled “A Wizard of Problem Composition – Yoshikazu Ueda” by Vlaicu Crişan was published in Mat Plus. And in 2012 Vlaicu Crişan and Eric Huber edited "Aurora - A Collection of 100 Chess Problems by Yoshikazu Ueda".
There are three main currents in Yoshikazu Ueda’s work: the long problems with systematic manoeuvres, the constructional problems and the ‘festivals of promotions’. We will show below examples from the first and third category.
